Error Codes - Designjet T770 44'' (A0) Printer (CH539A)

Initialisation error.

  • Switch the power OFF from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Check that the printer is properly connected in all other respects.  
  • Wait 2 minutes then reconnect the power cord and power ON the printer. 

 

If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

01.01:YZ

Error in the Main PCA.
Switch the power OFF from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the printer.
If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

01.0:YZ

Communication with Main PCA failed.
Try the following: Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.

If this does not resolve the problem - Requires Service Engineer

Failure  communicating with an Ink Supply
Switch the power off from the rear of the unit and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect power cord and power on the unit if problem persists.

Try the following: Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power On the Printer.

Trailing Cable does not seem to be detected.
Try the following: Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer. Check that the Trailing Cable is not damaged. If this does not resolve the problem - Requires Service Engineer

Failure moving the Primer Motor of the Service Station.
Requires Service Engineer.

Failure testing the length of the Service Station path.

  • Switch the power off from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Check the Primer Tubes.
  • Make sure that the Service Station path is clear. Remove any visible obstacles (paper, screws, plastic parts, etc.) restricting the movement of the Service Station.  
  • Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer.  

 

If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

Failure moving Service Station. 
Try the following:
● Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Check the Primer Tubes. 
● Make sure that the Service Station path is clear. Remove any visible obstacles (e.g.paper,  screws, plastic parts, etc...) restricting the movement of the Service Station.

● Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.

If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

Left Ink Supply Error, module 0.
Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.
If problem continues, requires a Service Engineer.

Left Ink Supply Station error.
Try the following: Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.

If this does not resolve the problem - Requires Service Engineer

Ink Setup failure. 
Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.
If problem continues, requires a Service Engineer.

Ink supply error found during IDS diagnostic test. In the Touch Control Panel you wil see letters reresenting the names of the colours of the faulty supplies.

  • Reseat the faulty ink supply and repeat the Ink Delivery System diagnostic test.
  • If the problem persists, replace the faulty ink supply and repeat the Ink Delivery System diagnostic test.  

If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

39.1:01

Roll 1 switch failed (standby or resume). Roll 1 has been unloaded.
There is no corrective action for this. This system warning code only notifies the user that the roll has been unloaded because an unexpected error occured with Roll 1 in standby or resume operation. If problem persists, Requires a Service Engineer

39.2:01

Roll 2 switch failed (standby or resume). Roll 2 has been unloaded.
There is no corrective action for this. This system warning code only notifies the user that the roll has been unloaded because an unexpected error occured with Roll 1 in standby or resume operation. If problem persists, Requires a Service Enginee

Electrical fault or current limit in Media-Axis Motor.
Try the following:

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord.
  • Open the Window and check for any visible obstacles restricting the movement of the Media Advance Roller. If there is a wrinkled mass of media inside the paper path, lift the Pinch wheels (using Media Lever) and clear the obstruction. 
  • Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer. 
  • If the problem persists - Requires Service Engineer

42:YZ

Electrical problem (fault, current limit, overheating) in Scan-Axis Motor.
Try the following:

  • Switch the power off from the rear of the unit, disconnect the power cable.
  • Check for any visable obstacles restricting movement of Carriage Assembly. Remove any obstacle to let the carriage move freely along the whole scan-axis. If there is a wrinkled mass of paper inside the paper path, raise the pinch wheels (using the Media Lever) and clear the obstruction.  
  • Reconnect and power on the unit
  • If problem persists - Requires a Service Engineer

45.1:YZ

An error with the Rewinder 1 System (Upper Rewinder) has been detected.

  • Switch the power off from the rear of the unit, disconnect the power cable.
  • Remove the paper from Roll 1.
  • Reconnect and power on the unit,

If problem persists. Requires a Service Engineer

Star wheels motor error.

Try the following:

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. 
  • Check that the Starwheel Assembly cable is not damaged and is correctly connected to Main PCA.
  • Open the Window and check for any visible obstacles restricting the movement of the Starwheel Assembly, then clear the obstruction.
  • Reconnect the power cord and power On the Printer.

If error persists, may require a Service Engineer

PPS system failure.
Try the following: Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.

The file format is incorrect or not supported for the current product configuration and the product cannot process the job.

  • Check whether the printer supports the file format (formats such as PS, PDF, TIFF and JPEG are supported by PostScript printers only).  
  • Switch the power OFF from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the printer.  
  • Resend the file to the printer. 

 

If error continues then requires a Service Engineer.

Input/Output problem through the network interface of the formatter. 
Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer. 
If the error continues, requires a Service Engineer.

Printer does not ecognise the USB HDD accessory connected.
Switch the power OFF from the back of the printer and disconnect the power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the printer.

Try the following:
● Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.
● Check that the USB cable is correctly connected to the Printer.
● Check that the Printer has the latest Firmware version. If not Require a Service Engineer to update the Firmware to the latest version.

Memory Driver Internal I/O error, I/O Socket Manager Internal I/O error, communications error.

Try the following:

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power On the Printer.
  • Check that the unknown port cable is correctly connected to the Printer.
  • Check that the Printer has the latest Firmware version. If not, update the Firmware to the latest version.

Loss of engine counters tracking. 
Try the following:
● Reboot the printer. The printer will continue to function correctly, but the life counters will not continue counting until you restart the printer.

Try the following:

  • Switch the power off from the back of the product and disconnect trhe power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power on the product.
  • Make sure the connection between the computer and the product is functioning correctly.
  • Try to upload the paper profile update file again. make sure the version of the paper profile update file is compatible with the Firmware version the product is using. You can check this on the same Web Page from where you downloaded the paper profile update.
  • A service engineer should not be required unless the error code recurs.

Error uploading firmware update file. 
Try the following:
● Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.
● Make sure the connection between the computer and the printer is functioning properly.
● Try to update the Firmware again.

  • Reconnect the power cord and power On the Printer.  
  • Firmware may need updating
  • Update the OMES of the paper type that is failing.

The job received can not be printed without borders on this paper.

Try the following:

Use a paper that supports borderless printing.

This system error code does NOT require service help. It should be resolved by the customer.

Generic Firmware error.

Try the following:

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect thePower cord. Reconnect the power cord and power On the Printer.
  • Check that the Printer has the latest Firmware version. If not, update the Firmware to the latest version.

If this does not resolve the problem - Requires Service Engineer.

81:YZ

This Error can occur if the product has been dropped during transportation causing structural damage.

Before continuing with the 81:YZ troubleshooting, first look for structural damage. e.g.Consistent 81:YZ error codes.

Scan-axis shutdown/Carriage Servo shutdown - caused by problem moving the carriage, most likely due to a paper jam.

Try the following: 

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord. 
  • Open the Window and check for any visible obstacles restricting the movement of the carriage. If there is a wrinkled mass of media inside the paper path, lift the Pinch wheels (using the Media Lever) and clear the obstruction.
  • Reconnect the power cord and power ON the Printer.

If problem persists - Requires Service Engineer

Scan axis movement requires too much force or energy.

Problem finding the Scan-axis encoder reading.

Try the following:

  • Switch the Power OFF from the back of the Printer and disconnect the Power cord.

  • Movement jam - possible paper jam.
  • Check that the Scan-Axis Motor is correctly connected.
  • Check that the Encoder Sensor is correctly connected.
  • Remove the Encoder Strip and clean it.

Requires a Service Engineer.

Unable to pressurize the Ink Delivery System. The ISS Motor does not move as expected

Try the following:
